What is petroleum coke?
Petroleum coke is a porous structure, non-polar hydrocarbon, and it is a hydrophobic substance. Petroleum coke is a more end product of the petroleum family. It has both the physical properties of petroleum and the thermal properties of petroleum. The elemental composition is mainly carbon, and occasionally contains a small amount of hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, oxygen and certain metal elements, and sometimes also contains water. Widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry and other industries as electrodes or raw materials for the production of chemical products.
Petroleum coke processing technology
Petroleum coke is dehydrated to make its moisture content ≤5%. Electromagnetically removes iron before and after crushing to prevent iron materials from entering the raw material. It is crushed to particles ≤5mm or less, and additives are added to prevent moisture and agglomeration. , Lubrication and helpful for pneumatic conveying, and has a certain combustion-supporting effect. It is ground to more than 200 mesh by an industrial powder grinder, and then sent to the finished powder bin. The entire process adopts an effective combination of collection filters, induced draft fans, and conveying systems, as well as strict control of each dust point, to avoid dust overflow, and the entire production process is environmentally friendly and pollution-free.

Application fields of petroleum coke
Depending on its quality, petroleum coke can be used in industries such as graphite production, smelting and chemical industries.
Low-sulfur, high-quality cooked coke, such as needle coke, is mainly used to make ultra-high power graphite electrodes and some special carbon products.
Medium-sulfur, ordinary cooked coke is used in aluminum smelting in large quantities. High-sulfur, ordinary green coke is used in chemical production, such as the manufacture of calcium carbide, silicon carbide, etc., and also as a fuel for metal casting.
Most of the domestically produced petroleum coke is low-sulfur coke, which is mainly used for aluminum smelting and graphite production. It is also mainly used to prepare carbon products, such as graphite electrodes and anode arcs, for steelmaking, non-ferrous metals, and aluminum smelting; to prepare silicon carbide products, such as various grinding wheels, sand skins, sandpaper, etc.; to prepare commercial calcium carbide for Production of synthetic fibers, acetylene and other products; can also be used as fuel, but when used as fuel, a staged impact mill is used for ultra-fine pulverization, and the coke powder can be burned. At present, glass is mainly used for coke powder as fuel Plant, coal water slurry plant, etc.
